Surprize! - November 7, 2011

I presented some songs from "The Suprizing Work of God", my opera-in-progress about Jonathan Edwards, at the annual conference of the Jonathan Edwards Society on October 7 at First Churches in Northampton, where he preached "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" in 1741.

Peace In The Valley - September 1, 2011

Directing a community choir at Northampton Community Music Center, called Peace In The Valley. We'll be singing devotional and inspirational music from all over the place. First rehearsal Sept 14 at 7. Be there!

My song "Music Master" won the Interfaith Choral Composition Competition sponsored by ActorCor in NYC. They performed it All Souls' Church on MLK weekend.

Tartuffe - October 1, 2009

My musical adaptation of Moliere's "Tartuffe" is looking for a production!

The play was banned for its presumed irreligion immediately following its first performance at Versailles in 1662. The themes of religious credulity, fanaticism and hypocrisy are, of course, evergreen.
